Holy
Cats, it's been a long time since I've visited this page and typed
anything new. Lots of stuff has happened, since last I wrote
here, including two trips to the UK and Europe, and a new CD with Ben
Winship and our friends from across the pond, Dom Harrison and Leon
Hunt. It was a real treat making a CD with all these guys, and
we have some friends from both countries who appear on it as well.
You can check out a sample of it on the MORE Growling Old Men
Myspace page.

From Vintage

"Imagine two
guys, sitting on a front porch with their instruments, trading songs.
On Occupational Hazards John Lowell & Ben Winship do exactly that.
The result is some of the purist, most direct music making I've heard
in many years.

"Guitarist John
Lowell and mandolinist Ben Winship have been playing together for
several years, sharing an interest in traditional and bluegrass

sound like brothers.

Music Profiles - May/June 2006
"Occupational
Hazards" is the second release by Growling Old Men, the duo
comprised of guitarist John Lowell and mandolinist Ben Winship.
The two, who play together in Kane's River, rely entirely on their own
instruments and voices with no apparent overdubs.....
